Backyard Produce

We did not have a garden last year and regretted it big time!  We are not making that mistake this year.  Last weekend Ellie, Ava, and I kicked the growing year off by planting 6 tomato plants - 2 cherry tomatoes and 4 full-size variety.

There is something so cool about being able to walk down to your garden and grab fresh tomatoes to throw on a sandwich or a burger - literally does not get fresher than that.  I have good memories of the tomato gardens my grandparents used to have behind their shed - as a kid there is something magical about those beautiful red fruits growing on a vine....I am excited to make some fun memories for the kids and for my favorite treat of the summer - a burger with fresh mashed avocado and a big juicy tomato...oh boy I can't wait!

  1. I loved picking vegetables growing up, too... and it is SO much cheaper. We look forward to having a garden sometime soon so we don't have to pay such outlandish prices at the grocery store!
