Local Ice Cream

We were having some friends over for dinner tonight and we needed a few items from the grocery store.  This sounded like the makings of (insert booming announcer voice with echo) A Bike Trip Adventure!

Our trip ended up being about 4 miles in total and Ellie again impressed me with her bike skills.  She kept up just fine and was able to make it up all but the steepest hills.  Ava is such a trooper as the bike trailer is not the most...plush...of rides.  She and Ava both loved going so far from home on a bike (to be honest I LOVE destination bike rides myself - favorite kind of ride).

On the way home we rode past a new ice cream shop that Karin had mentioned to me earlier in the week.  Local ice cream shop?!  Does it get any better than that?  So of course we stopped - and I honestly only intended to check it out for a future, planned visit, but the owner guilted me into buying the kids some cones - which was ok since one of my vices is seeing my kids happy...  Buble gum and mint chocolate flavors is how Ellie and Ava spell happy...

All you Highland Creek locals need to get ready for some walking/biking adventures to the local ice cream store this summer!  There is actually even a carolina wine tasting store next to the ice cream place.  I am thinking we send the kinds in to the ice cream store, we hit the wine place, and everybody wins!

For those of you wondering how could I possible get to this ice cream place without getting on high traffic roads, please refer to the below map :)
