If you find yourself bored some weekend, try heading downtown to check out what the city has to offer. The Drescher's headed to downtown Charlotte on Sunday (which for some reason they call "Uptown") and we had quite an adventure.
The Imaginon is a kid's theater/library where you can dress up like story book characters AND go into the story, jump on big letter stamps, rent charmeck library books, and play some cool coloring computer games - Ava impressed me with her gazelle like intensity and mouse skilz.
Then we hopped on the Charlotte Trolley for a ride out of the city and towards Pike's Soda Shop. We were so excited to go to an authentic soda shop - we were even more surprised when we showed up and had the place all to ourselves - it was empty. So empty that when we tried to go in we realized it was actually empty....I.E. closed after 2PM on Sundays. Doh!!!
Since we had saved our lunch/dinner appetites for Pike's, we quickly caught the next train back to Charlotte and made our way to the Rock Bottom Brewery where everyone had a great meal - including the Bransonater who enjoyed a pint of local brew...
All in all it was a really fun way to spend time as a family.
