If you have been around me or Graham and Katie then you probably have heard all you want to hear about our gardens :) We all decided to try this gardening method that Bruce introduced us to - it is called square foot gardening. You build 4 X 4 boxes, fill them in with the perfect soil mix (33% compost made up of 5 different kinds, 33% vermiculite, and 33% peat moss), seperate the space into square foot sections, and plant your garden!
It actually sounds REALLY easy in that short paragraph and it was fairly easy to pull off, but it did require a lot of planning to make it happen. However, now that they are done, planting vegtables in them is a piece of cake - literally takes a couple minutes to throw in a tomato plant or brocolli or whatever. We have each added our own automatic watering system to the gardens which almost make them maintenance free. Now we are just waiting for some hot summer weather to see this stuff start really taking off!
