My birthday this year was pretty much perfect. We had amazing weather and I got to spend time with many of my favorite people in the world.
We kicked things off with Murphy's and Wings on Friday night followed by a campfire, night time zip line rides, tree swings, and some of Emily's famous berry cobbler. Having ice cream and cobbler by the campfire was...magical.. that is the best word to describe it :)
Saturday was the actual day my birthday fell on this year and let me tell you, that is a treat. To be able to get up and exercise in the morning, then have one of my favorite breakfasts (carmel soaked french toast) prepared by my wife - all enjoyed in the cool March air on the back deck...wow. Such a great time. Then we spent about 3 hours down in the woods playing games and tweaking the zip line until lunch - where Karin made us sandwiches to eat around the picnic table while the Houghey's (sp??) tried out the zip line.
Around 5 PM most of our local family showed up for another fantastic dinner of burgers and dogs and tasty sides. We headed down to the campfire for the opening of presents AND birthday cake. Again with the tasty sweets by the campfire...does it get any better than that??
The only dissapointing thing about the day was that it was so perfect that next year won't be able to top it :(
