The pictures really don't do it justice. 13 cubic yards of mulch is a lot of mulch. It's kind of like a mountain of mulch in fact. We had it dumped at the end of our driveway at the top of our two hills that fall into the woods behind the house - which is where we wanted to take the mulch. I was hoping gravity would do ALL the work but it turned out to only do some of the work :( I set up a series of tarp slides and the kids and I would shovel a bunch of mulch onto a tarp, then slide it down the hill to a second tarp which I would then drag down the second hill and place it in the natural area where I wanted it. I don't know how many of these trips it took me....but I was totally exhausted on both days that I worked on this project. It took 9 hours of labor to knock it out and my little Ava was with me for most of it. She tirelessly shoveled, raked, and pushed mulch down the first tarp so that I could focus on batching it into manageable loads that I could drag down the hill. And she did much of this work in dresses...now that was a sight :)
