This past weekend Karin and I had the privilege of spending our time with the entire Carolinas Young Life region - and more specifically, the amazing group of people that make up our smaller Lake Norman Region. 500+ people converged on the Great Wolf Lodge for insanely good worship led by Ed Cash, rock solid Bible teaching from Steve Gardner, and a ton of great time spent with our Lake Norman leader and Committee community.
You can get a small taste of the weekend by checking out these three videos below; one is a short slideshow of pictures, the second is a short video of the two talented guys from Tenessee that did program (the run-on skits that had us laughing our dungy's off), and third a bunch of videos of the mass crowd craziness, great worship, big group meals, funny group games, and the 11PM dance party that broke out on Saturday night(watch closely and you may catch a glimpse of the booty dance...).
The weekend was incredible - we are already looking forward to next year's retreat. At this point in our lives, we just don't have opportunities to be challenged or spend time in worship with hundreds of other like minded folks the way we do when we are with YLers. The YL community is a tight knit bunch with a ton of history as evidenced by the relationships that have been there for decades among these folks. We feel so blessed just to be a part of this ministry and have the privilege to attend weekends like this.
