It's almost like the kids can smell it or something... I mean maybe 3 flakes had fallen and all of sudden there was this whooping and hollering and stomping of feet as the kids came running down the stairs screaming "it's snowing!!!!!!!"
Well for a change we actually got some decent snow - probably 3 or 4 inches by morning. I did my usual tradition of waking up wayyyy to early to get out for a hike before the world...and the kids....wake up. I was home by 7:30 and then back out to the grocery store for some key supplies like...bacon, sausage, OJ, and DONUTS!! Yum.
After a healthy pre-breakfeast of chocolate sprinkle, vanilla, and glazed doughnuts, we all headed out for some sledding action on the SUPER SWEET snow tubes that Aunt Kelly got the kids for Christmas (Aunt Kelly - that was a great gift and you were the hero of the day!!). During my morning hike I had scouted out a good spot for tubing on the golf course just a short walk from our house so we headed that direction. The snow tubes were perfect for the hill and the kids had a blast taking some pretty long rides down the slopes.
I knew it was time to bring them in when Ellie was crying and stomping her feet b/c her hands were so cold... So we came in and mommy had made some tasty egg and bacon soufles. What a way to spend a Saturday morning!

Glad you guys got to use the snow tubes. Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI gotta pass the credit over to Wayne for this Christmas idea. I actually wanted to get the girls a toy. They wouldn't have the snow tubes if it weren't for Uncle Wayne!
ReplyDeleteHe certainly is the hero of the day for this one ( :
Speaking of snow, we are currently in a blizzard out here in DC. Between this storm and the last, I think we'll have around 40 + inches of snow! Come on out for some fun sledding guys!
