The whole nuclear fam made it out for this trip (and so did Karin's older sister's husband and 2 of their 3 kids PLUS Karin's parents, AND we were even visited by our boat travelling friends the Conneely's for dinner). We set a new family record by taking our 3.5 month old on his first camping trip....talk about starting him out right! We have a decent sized tent but it was quite full with the 5 of us - 4 sleeping bags, tons of blankets, bags of clothes, shoes, maglites (3 cell C and 6 cell D), and of course - a bassinet for itty bitty little buddy branson james drescher.
It is not the easiest thing to pull off with all the planning, packing, assembling, dirty clothes, dirty hands, dirty face, girls screaming at every "flying spider" they saw in the bathroom, I'm thirsty, I'm hungry, I'm crying, I'm hot....and finally...."this is fun daddy." So in the end, it is quite worth it. I hope my kids grow up to have great memories of our little camping trips...and how can they forget them when I put together such great slideshows!!!
