I know everyone is SUPER anxious to hear about how my other children are doing - Square Foot Garden Box one and two. Well let me tell you...they are just fine.
- The most impressive items to date are the 3 plots of snow peas which are climbing up my trellises very quickly.
- The 5 broccoli plants have fist sized heads on them already and the worms have gone...I was about to spray some stuff on them to try and get rid of the caterpillars, but then one day they were all just...gone.
- Peppers are growing very well. Tall and straight but no fruit yet.
- The tomatos are chugging along but not wow. I think I trimmed too many of the lower branches on some of them in an attempt to get them to go vertical. I think not having enough leaves to collect sunshine has stunted their growth. Lesson learned.
- The lettuce is getting there as well although not as fast as I thought. I am not having much success with Romaine lettuce. I have had to replant one plot twice with Romaine seed and out of 2 plots, I only have two small seedlings so far.
- Bush beans. I had forgotten what they were. I don't like them. Why did I plant them again?
