A Valentines Date with Ellie

With a full weekend planned including trips to the Imaginon, sledding in the falling snow, sleepovers, and lunch at Nonna's house Ellie and I decided to do our Valentines date on Friday night.  Whenever Ellie has her choice of where to go and grab a bite you can put your money on the fact that she will choose sushi!!  And sushi she picked.

We had a little bit of dinner at home with the rest of the fam b/c mommy made homeade belgian waffles and Ellie could not resist, but we then headed out into about an inch of falling snow and headed for Yama - a newer sushi place around us that we had not tried.  Ellie was excited about getting regular California rolls and I got Spicy Yellowtail rolls.  They were fantastic and I enjoyed hearing about some of the games Ellie plays on the playground with her friends at school.  Maybe you would like to hear about it as well?  Ok.  She and Kennedy pretend they are eggs during spring and they hatch into baby birds.  Then they grow up during summer and lay new eggs and then they die.  Then they pretend they are the new eggs again...so on and so forth...and there goes 30 minutes of recess.  Oh to have that verile of an imagination again.  Mine's toast!  :(

Ellie wore a super cute red sweater/shirt combo thing and looked like the princess of Valentines Day.  I guarantee that there was not a more cute second grader at HCE!
