I announced to Ava this morning that we were going to do our Valentines date today at lunch time. After the squeal of excitement she asked how long till we left - I told her about 4 hours. 15 minutes later she came in my office and asked if it was almost time to go. She was excited :)
In regards to what we were going to do or where we were going to go, the world was Ava's oyster...and she opted for some mid thirty degree minature golf. Hey, mini-golf is always fun, right? Well even in spite of the cool weather we had a great time and for the second year in a row - Ava beat her daddy at mini-golf!!!! She managed to sink a hole in one on hole 14 which is a stair step hole with three different levels. Unbelieveable.
Following our round of golf we headed to Five Guys, grabbed some burgers and fries and headed home where a pregnant mommy was craving red meat.
It was a fun little outing and always humbling to see how much my little girl loves to have special time with her daddy. I thank the Lord for this sweet little child and pray that my eyes are open to the special times that present themselves throughout our days together. Someday I won't be able to take her out for Valentines...or - gasp - she won't want to go :(
You are one wise daddy -- with two sweet little girls to take on dates!! So glad you are capturing the moments -- I'll refrain from telling you just how fleeting they are -- oops -- I just did........
