Dad Moves to Charlotte: 15 Years in the Making

My dad came in for the weekend to close on the townhouse he bought near Jetton Park.  He has been driving through this area for the last 15 years and always wanted to live here.  It is awesome that things finally worked out!

We had a whirlwind visit with lots of new home business for Dad to attend to, but we still managed to have some great dinners together, a couple lunches, and lots of bridge playing in the evenings.  The highlight for the girls was of course the traditional Sunday morning breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  Branson is a big fan of grandpa and was continually asking "where geepaw?  where geepaw?"

On Saturday we did some exploring in Dad's neighborhood and checked out the private boat launch they have, some dry storage which is virtually on-site, as well as a motorcycle repair shop, and boat repair shop.  If you know my dad, then you know that these "amenities" must have been divinly placed here.  He could not be happier.  Add to that the fact that he met a neighbor who rides dirt bikes in the area and this "winter house" may turn into his "all-time house"!!

We also got to walk from his place to a cut-through trail to get onto the normal Jetton Park walking trails.  We put in a good 2 mile walk, enjoyed some lake view scenary and then headed to MacAlister's Deli which is a 4 minute drive from his place.
