Suburban Lumberjacking

Is there anything better than getting outside on a crisp, windy, sun filled afternoon, and doing something that allows you to flex your lumberjack muscles?  Now I only get to do this a couple times a year which explains why the aforementioned muscles are both girly-man sized and VERY sore today.

I took the electric chainsaw and about 2 miles of extension cord down into the woods yesterday afternoon and EUREKA did I find some excellent timber.  Being the good HOA rule follower that I am, I only looked for downed trees to act as victims for the electric beast.  I found two substantial fallen Cedar trees that were dense and well seasoned.  The act of cutting them up heated up the wood and I got to spend the afternoon smelling that wonderful hamster tank smell.  My lumberjack assistant Ava helped me round up all the cut wood and carry it back to our logpile where we then split two of the logs.  We then lit em up for a Sunday night campfire where we ate PB&honey sandwiches and of course - smores.  The smell of a campfire is always good - but when you are burning cedar - it even gets better.  It was AWESOME.
