Sage vs the Cognition Lab
Sage had her big test today - she is training to be the next Intersect. No not really. She is actually in a trial to test Cortixiphan so that she can go to parallel universes. No that's not true either. She actually is part of a study being conducted by the University of North Carolina @ Chapel Hill Nutrition Research Institute Cheatham Nutrition & Cognition Lab. Why don't we just go with UNCCHNRICNCL.... They are doing a study to determine if there are any links between the DHA level of a mother's breast milk and brain development.
Sage Epoo arrived bright eyed and bushy tailed and got fitted with a neural network hat which was attached using a cocktail of saltwater and baby shampoo in order to conduct her electrical brain implulses to the sensors. Before putting the hat on they had to measure her head (she is quite used to this as Karin does it every time she changes a diaper - you know Karin and measuring heads....) and then marked the exact center of her head with a blue crayon - yep, right on her noggin which did not bother her in the least. Finally the multi-million dollar machine was hooked up and ready to go. Then they sat her in a bumbo seat, turned on the machine, the city lights in CLT dimmed, and they showed her a bunch of images of kids toys. Then they showed her a 2nd set of images of kids toys - some that matched what she saw the first time and some new ones. They wanted to detect her brain activity when she recognized an image. Well....she lasted for all of 2 minutes in the bumbo before it was game over. Have someone draw on your head with a crayon - no problem. Put on a weird, wet, spooky looking hat - no problem. Watch TV - I don't think so! Come on! Kids and TV go together like Chick-fil-a sweet tea and gallon jugs! Unbelieveable.
