Valentines Day

Valentines Day started the night before as Karin cut out about 2 dozen large red hearts and wrote special notes to the kids.  I then sneaked into their rooms and hung them from the ceiling while the slept.  I think this year Branson was the most impressed with this as he continued to stare at these odd objects throughout the morning.

The morning started with the kids coming in our room early whispering something...I don't remember what they said.  All I remember is throwing the sheet over my head and mumbling "it's too early..."  That brush off did not last too long as they arrived 2 kid hours later (unfortunately that is only 2 adult minutes) to try and rouse us again.

We eventually got up and Karin made us all some blueberry panckakes and sausage.  We sat around the table enjoying our breakfast, our company, and opening up the MANY cards that had been arriving over the last week.  We had all written each other cards about what we liked about the other person - it was fun to read.

Then I was off to do a baby "photo shoot" with Miles (check their blog for pics in the upcoming days) and Ellie was off to a birthday party.  Ava and I got to have a little "date" in the Costco parking lot...odd location I know... We enjoyed a Little Ceaser's Hot n Ready pizza in the front seat of the jeep - we called it a picnic :)  During our picnic Ava grilled me on every button, lever, and vent in the front seat - it was like she had been staring at all this stuff for years but had no idea what any of it did...

The whole fam reconnected at the Toyota and Honda dealership where we continued to complain that they have yet to come up with a good non-american vehicle for the larger family :(  That GMC Acadia is looking better every day...  That was followed up by a romantic dinner for FIVE at a fine steak place...Steak n' Shake.  We were quickly reminded of why we had not been there in the last 4 years.
