It is kind of a tradition now that I take the Ravester out on a date around the same time that I take Ellie to the Father/Daughter dance at her school. It was kind of crazy thinking about how much has changed since the last time Ava and I did this date - last time Branson was only about 1 week old and we were living in a different house!!
Things started off with Ava getting all dolled up in a pretty dress and doing a quick photo shoot at home. Then we headed to our favorite restaurant - Tsunami for a little hibachi grill and California roll goodness! This year Ava braved the California roll (crab, avocado, and something else in a seaweed and rice wrap) and said she liked it (although she passed on seconds...). Daddy made his wasabi/soy sauce mixture a little too strong and had teary eyes and a runny nose for most of the lunch :) We had lots of whispered conversation (shared a table with another family with two young boys) and had a great time.
Then we headed out for the redneck portion of our date (we do live in the south you know??!!). We found a new spot to go off-roading in the jeep AND watched airplanes practice landing and taking off at the local airport. There is a cool little access road you can take to get in to the back of the airport and can sit outside a fence directly across from the runway and watch the planes - always a big hit with both Ellie and Ava.

She loved dipping her food in the sauces this visit to Tsunami....
