Boxing Day Auction Extravaganza

My sister-in-law and bro-in-law (Amy and Pete) have been the driving force behind a Boxing Day tradition for our extended family for the last few years.  This year the event changed from the standard "box up your old toys and stuff and donate to charity" to a full blown family charity auction.  We had a licensed auctioneer and everything...

The day started with some delicious box lunches (those Frank's love sticking tight to their themes) which were eaten upstairs in the bonus room on blankets picnic style.  Quickly followed by the first ever charity auction.  Everyone brought stuff they had around the house that was currently not of value in the hopes of selling it to another family member who would find value in the item and then donating the money raised to a charity.  It was a great idea and extremely well executed by the Franks.  Everyone had fun and everyone walked away supporting a charity AND with some new stuff.  They only exception to this would be Bruce who unknowingly bid on 2 or 3 of the items Lynn had donated to the auction which came from upstairs only to be purchased back by them and returned back to the same shelf...

I did not get any pics from this event but I did capture the auction atmosphere in a short video.  Enjoy!!
