Last week from Sunday through Wednesday our church was running their flavor of VBS - it was called Jam Nights and was a 4 day running series of the usual school year "kids church service" program called KidStuf. During each month they focus on a character trait - during Jam Nights it was "Joy". What is joy? All the kids can now tell you that joy is being happy even when things don't go your way.
Ellie and Ava invited their friends Jasmine, Sammy, and Tony to go with them - so each day around 5:45 we would all pile into the cars and head to the church. They did the program for the first hour followed by pizza and activities such as shooting wet spoonges out of a 3-kid slingshot, squirting strawberry sundae topping on all the kids hands and doing "messy high fives", and foraging through a kiddie pool filled with green slime looking for little clear glass marbles.
