This year for Father's Day Karin had the awesome idea to plan a family camping weekend at our favorite campground in the state - Montreat. So on Friday afternoon we headed out to meet up with the Murphy's at the campsites.
Once we got off the highway at Black Mtn we kept telling Branson that he was going camping and were pointing out the big mountains and he was all ooohing and ahhing and talking about camping - it was really cute. Once there he had even more fun - the boy felt free to walk all over the place and explore the trails that connected the campsites together. We actually had to keep an eye on him b/c at one point he wandered off (with Karin secretly following him) and he wandered to a couple different campsites and asked total strangers where Ayva was. Seriously?
Karin's dad made it up to join us on Saturday afternoon and Sunday so it was nice to be able to spend Father's Day with him on Sunday morning around a picnic table full of eggs, sausage, fresh blueberry pancakes, and folgers coffee! It was so nice to get out of the heat in Charlotte - the highs in Montreat were only about 75 or 80!
