Winter Fun in March

The second day of March brought with it some really fun weather - we had the most significant snow fall in the last....5 + years I think...  We got about 4 or 5 inches and it was BEAUTIFUL.  It reminded me of days of old when I was a kid growing up in Pittsburgh.  The winter of 94/95 - best snow of my life!  Well this did not quite compare to 14 inches, but it was still really fun.

I went to bed as snow had been falling for a number of hours and I set my alarm for 6AM.  I got up, pulled out all my old snow hiking gear, and headed out for a super peaceful hike on the golf course - my footprints were the first on the snow.  I took my point and shoot with me and got some awesome pictures.  I ended up being out much longer than I had meant to and ended up sneaking in a quick jog as I ran home hoping the girls had not made it out of bed yet.  They hadn't, so I made a good breakfast to give us energy for the morning, and we headed into the snow.  Ava was not feeling 100% so Ellie and I headed out for some golf course sledding followed by some serious snowman making in the front yard.

The snow stuck around for another day or so and it turned every hillside, street, and yard into a whole new landscape.  It was a great couple days.  I could definitely do that every year!
