This party has been in the works for MONTHS! Ever since Ava had her party in July, Ellie has been planning for her party. There have even been a number of times around the dinner table when Ellie has insisted on us writing down what we were talking about so that we would not "forget." The nights leading up to her party Ellie had us talk at length about the logistics and details of the party. The result of all this planning was that we did EVERYTHING her little heart had hoped for :) What more could a project manager dad want??
I am going to give you the highlights below and then at the end of this you can watch a 6 minute video of the whole darn thing!!
- Lunch @ Ellie's school. We brought cookies that she passed out to her class in honor of her birthday.
- Surprised her at the bus stop with signs and balloons.
- Came inside and showed her the "party supplies" - glow sticks, snacks, games, etc...
- Gave Ellie her gift - a flip video camera! Ava gave her an automatic card shuffler.
- Silly string fight with her friends to kick the party off
- Candy World - Ellie saw one of these stores about a year ago and has been BEGGING to go. An entire store full of nothing but candy? She has even shared her dream of being locked inside a candy store...kids and candy....what is it about candy?
- Skeeball
- Breakfast for dinner while playing the telephone game. The words started innocent enough with "Birthday" and "Branson" but soon went south with clues like "stinky smelly feet" and "I like to pee in my diaper"...
- Glow sticks on the trampoline in the dark
- Sparklers in the driveway
- Opening presents
- AWESOME ice cream cake made by mommy!!
- "Sleeping" in a tent on the back deck. 4 girls and 72 stuffed animals in a 2 man backpacking tent...
- Cereal and Monkey bread for breakfast with Mac and Meggie wondering if there really were monkies in the bread...
- Naps
- Cards and a couple more presents from the out-of-town relatives
- Dinner at Red Robin
- Read a story - Purple Plastic Purse
- Bedtime!
