This kid scores so big when it comes to birthday parties. The last couple years she has had parties in Dayton with my mom, sister, and grandparents, in Hilton Head with my Dad, and of course a party on her actual birthday at home. This is the opposite of the very sad Christmas birthday syndrome where you get the old "this is for your birthday AND Christmas..."
Well this year Ava woke up to a magically decorated room (which you can see on the video), came down to presents, waffles, a shopping trip with Mom and sister, a pool party with the extended family, an outing to Lowes Motor Speedway to the Tuesday Night Shootout, and finally to Sonic for some outdoor late night ice cream. By the way, this last event at Sonics was also where she discovered her vocational calling - to bring food to people while wearing roller skates - mommy and daddy could not be more proud of the high bar she has set for herself. Then a couple weeks later she FINALLY got her biggest wish of all - she got to have her favorite little friend in the world - Isabella - come over for Ava's very first sleepover. And fun they had....
