The stars were in alignment and I had the opportunity to pack the kids and I up for a 7 hr solo road trip to Dayton, OH to visit their great-grandparents, grandma, aunt Kelly, and cousin Becca.
I was not sure how the road trip would go, but it was a piece of cake. I brought lots of toys, books, movies, music, and MILK for boeyman. The hours flew by and Branson even managed to make his appointment with his afternoon nap.
We had an absolute blast while in Dayton - my grandmother is the best host you could ask for - and luckily for me - also the best cook you will find around. She had tailor made a course of meals over the 4 day visit that just happened to all be my favorites - what a treat! The girls loved hanging out with everyone and they fully enjoyed the pool that Gigi and Gramps have in their backyard. We swam, played, walked, ran, roasted marshmellows, played a ton of cards, and laughed non-stop.
It is a blessing to be able to spend such quality time in a house that I spent many young summers and christmas holidays. I have a ton of memories from their house and I think it is about the only place that remains from my childhood that I can go to. A treasured visit.
