Well, we have been in our rental for a full week now. Karin and I have both decided that it is very warm and "homey." We have also both decided it is very small :) Earlier in the week we were in a rush to get the kids to school on time and Karin was by the closet putting on her shoes, Ava was going to the bathroom, and Ellie and I were trying to get out the front door. The only problem with this is that all three of the above mentioned doors are within door swinging distance of each other. The result was that Karin got knocked into the closet in the dark, Ava got closed into the bathroom in the dark, they both started yelling, and Ellie and I hightailed it out of there. Yea, it is small.
We had a very exhausting, but uneventful move. Our Realtor has a truck that she lets her clients use for free - we had that for the weekend and Bruce and I moved all the beds over on Friday night - we all slept here that night. Then on Saturday morning I woke up at about 4AM thinking about everything that had to happen on Saturday and I could not sleep...so I started moving! We had some very loyal friends help us for most of the day on Saturday and by 5PM had 95% of our stuff in the new house - and it was FULL. Sunday, my brother-in-law Graham came over to help with a "few last things" - I say that b/c we ended up filling up another entire truck full. Gulp....did I mentione that the house was full from the previous day...
Karin's dad had JUST managed to clean out his garage and attic a couple months ago - he was so excited to have it clean and able to accept two cars again. Little did he know what was coming... he never should have told me on Saturday to "bring anything over we could not fit." I showed up and we all carried about 75 chairs up three flights of stairs, stashed stuff under his deck, put the wheelbarrow in the garage, took apart our weight bench so it would fit in the attic....it took about an hour, but we finally got it all moved in. I assured Bruce that it would only be temporary...no more than 3 years :)
