Driveway Elementary

For the last month or so the girls have been playing "school" just about every time they get together with friends - and even when it is just Ellie, Ava, and Branson.  They take turns being the teacher although it seems like Ellie fills this role more often than not.  There is usually a designated "bad kid" who disrupts the class, and they always have a full agenda.  Ellie is quite the prepared teacher as she always does a full lesson plan for class - even if we tell them they only have 30 minutes to play, Ellie will spend 20 making her lesson plan.  A planner - just like her daddy :)

This past week the kids had no school on Friday and late in the afternoon got together with their friend Mac and they decided they wanted to play school.  I was up at Mac's house hanging out with her dad so the kids decided to bring school to Mac's house rather than wait for me to come back down.  So over the period of an hour they made 3 or 4 trips back and forth with a wagon transporting the entire classroom.  I am talking a fold up table, 3 fold up chairs, 4 fold up end tables, a medium sized white bookshelf from the basement, a ream of printouts from my printer (and I wonder why I am always out of paper), and to cap it all off - a globe.  They had time to actually use their transported classroom for about 20 minutes before it was time for dinner.

Then on Sunday they made the reverse trip and brought it all back to our house where they setup class in our driveway on a beautiful Sunday afternoon where they played school from about 1 - 4 PM.  The pictures tell it all!
